A Little Blog & Shop Renovation!

Just a quick update to let you know that I'm doing some renovations around the blog and etsy shoppe lately. I have a whole list to get through... and to make sure it gets done I've moved the computer upstairs to the dining room table!

I'm officially getting down to business.

What does this mean? You might notice my picture and about has changed on the sidebar and I have a new newsletter sign up. That's because I've switched to MailChimp. So, if you haven't signed up already... go ahead and do so now. If you're already subscribed... you'll notice the new look:

Not only will you get my blog posts straight to your email, but I'll also be publishing a monthly newsletter with my shop updates, discount codes and more. You don't want to miss out.

New in the Etsy Shoppe!

Wow it's been a while since I've even been in my etsy shoppe - it sure is dusty! With maternity leave well on its way, I thought it would be a good time to get the shop "cleaned up" and business rolling again. I need to re-post some earrings and Christmas decorations too - but for now, I've added some brand new items.

Alphabet Prints | New in the Etsy Shop

I. am. alive. This week has been such a blur that I knew I needed to get on here and say hello. I promised a week (okay maybe two weeks) ago that I would post about the new items in the etsy shoppe. Truthfully, I was hoping to have more but if I wait for that I may never be able to share them with you... so here they are... introducing the one and only... Alphabet Prints from moi.

The Giraffe

Giraffe Alphabet Illustration for Nursery, Playroom or Children's Room

The Vintage Car

Vintage Car Alphabet Illustration for Nursery, Playroom or Children's Room

I have so many other designs up my sleeve and I'm also working on each letter of the alphabet. You can order from my "Pick me. Pick me." color selection or send me your custom color.

Pick Me. Pick Me.

I'm hoping to eventually add these to my craft show collection - well someday when I actually attend a craft show. But, for you they are available on my etsy shoppe. And get this, they're printable. So, you pay me, I send you a file and you print it however you want, whenever you want, wherever you want. No shipping needed.

Sounds good right? I only ask that you keep them for your own personal use. Please don't share or use in your business. Besides they're super cheap at only $10 (this pricing was on March 14, 2013) <--- just in case! :)

Anyways, I'm calling this week short. Today is my Friday and if we don't venture off somewhere tomorrow I might just be back with something more exciting? I'm not sure if that's possible these days - total loss of creativity with such a busy schedule. Boo.

Anyways, I missed you guys and I'll try not to be so long next time!

The Earrings are For Sale!

Alright, here's the deal. The earrings are ready and they're for sale. They just haven't hit the etsy shoppe yet because we are heading away on vacay soon! Translation... I don't want to list them, get a whole bunch of interest, and then have to shut down the shoppe for the week we're away.

What does this mean for you?

You get first dibs and a little bit of a deal if you want to buy from the first batch (or two) before they make the store.

Here's a snapshot of the what the earrings look like (see the ones for sale here). If you see a pair you MUST have, let me know... email me, comment below... Facebook me? If you see two pairs that you must have... even better for me for you... you'll get a deal.

On Etsy they are going to sell for $8 each plus shipping OR two for $14 plus shipping. If you buy before they go into the Etsy Shoppe (you have approximately 2 - 3 weeks)... you can get them $8 each plus shipping OR two for ONLY $12 plus shipping. (Shipping in Canada is $2.50).

So what'ya say?

They will be sold on a first come first serve basis... and while I'm away... a delayed response may occur - SORRY!

Keep in touch with my Facebook page as I will post the ones for sale in the Album - First Come, First Gets Earrings - Pre-Etsy Opportunity. When you pick and I respond... we will chit chat and I will invoice you through PayPal and then they will happily land in your mailbox.

If I don't hear back from you within 48 hours... I must surrender your selection to other folks.

Okay, deal... deal.

1, 2, 3... go shop!

Oh and thanks for supporting martha.anne and kinda making this thing a reality! :o)

Introducing... Clay Stud Earrings!

They aren't available in stores yet, but on the weekend I put together these bad boys - clay stud earrings. I'm still working out the kinks, but I want to know what you think??

clay stud earring by martha.anne

I've been wearing them every day since... And I must say.... I'm in love!

sporting the new clay stud earrings (M's) at work

I have original clay studs, cutout clay studs (which are one of a kind or limited addition) and soon to come... that will hopefully work... clay stamped studs.

a tray full of earrings and wanna be earrings

All the little cutouts you see, amongst the earrings on the tray, are waiting to be made.

I've been making new ones every day for the past three days. Oh and if you ask the hubby, I'm also dreaming about them. Last night I insisted in my sleep that we go to the craft store so I could get more glue for my earrings.

Just waiting on the jewelry varnish to arrive and then I'll add them to the etsy shoppe. Oh... And maybe even give away a pair (stay tuned).

Happy Tuesday! :o)

A Little Bit of Life… On a Monday

I'm back. Phew, what a week. I had one HUGE assignment for school due for Friday, Christmas hours to get in for work (so I can enjoy a nice long week or so off) and an exam to study for. Unfortunately, the exam wasn't sent to where I was supposed to write it, so that's still on my plate for this week. But… I managed to get the house decorated, the tree up and a little family time in. I CAN FINALLY RELAX. And, that's because anybody that knows me, knows I am probably not studying for that exam I still have. Oh… the joys. Anyways, Christmas is upon us… I'm starting to get super excited and the house is starting to get that warm and fuzzy feeling. I can't wait.

The Etsy Shoppe... is still sitting there… with products in it though. Okay, no new ones. But, I did manage to get in some experiment time with earrings last week and continue to work at those. As the husband says, I was a little late with the Christmas decorations (although I do battle that the stars can be used year round). He says I should be working on Christmas in the summer and working on Summer now. So… hmm… While I do agree, I need a plan. Besides, I only posted those ornaments so I could finally say the Etsy Shoppe is open… I need to work at it though. Something I will be doing in the coming weeks as I should have more time. :o)

Anyways, I can't make this all about me. Well, I sorta have to… but I will post something that is definitely a little more interesting. While I've been busy, I've still managed some Pinterest time… who doesn't have time for Pinterest? Here are a few of my latest pins… Hopefully you can appreciate them too.

Alright, off I go. I hope to be sharing some Christmas decor with you this week and maybe a free photo card design you can use to send to the family!! So… don't send out your greetings yet… I'm hoping to get a couple made up soon… one with a spot for the family pic. And, be sure to enter my giveaway, I've joined up with the Willow Wheat Spa.

Okay… that's a wrap on another Monday… I'm a happy camper again. :o)
Talk soon.

The Etsy Shoppe... is OPEN for Business!

I did it. I did it. I did it! Okay, I'm super excited. Last night I opened up the etsy shoppe! I still need to add a few more details, but I have my first products listed - the Hand Stitched Felt Stars. I'm super pumped and anxious as I await my first sale. I've been reading the Quit Your Day Job Series for a while now and I heard it can happen over night or take months. I think I'll be grateful if it ever happens. Anyways, here's a peak at the new products:

What's next? I'm going to keep creating. I have clay ornaments that are ready to list but I'm stuck on how I should ship them - they're extra fragile! (Any ideas on packaging?) As well, I have some ideas in mind for other ornaments and jewelry. I'm hoping to get to my first pair of earrings made this weekend. If all goes well, I will just need to buy the packaging and they will be listed by the end of the month.

Ahh! So exciting. If you're reading this blog and know someone out there who loves handmade items, please spread the word. I'm hoping to get enough confidence up to build up a stock and go to next year's craft shows. What do you think?

Anyways, have a great weekend out there. Besides crafting, I'll be online shopping (yay black friday deals!), possibly getting out the christmas decorations, doing my last school assignment, attending a work party… and hopefully squeezing in some relax time!

Yes! I'm Back...

After a summer off from blogging… I'm back. I hated leaving you guys behind for a few months, but it was something I had to do. And now, looking back, I'm glad I did - the past few months have been nothing but chaos! It started out with the sale of our home and ended with a totally gutted new house. It's been long, fun, stressful and just plain tiring. And… I'm glad I'm back. I've got many things to gear up for, including a product launch before Christmas. That's right, I'm putting it in words so it happens, this girl is finally going to get her etsy shoppe up and running.

But, before I dive into that, here's a recap of what happened over the summer and the posts you will enjoy soon!
  • We sold our house. It was a long process, and a horrible one, but it finally happened. (I still need to share the cape cod renos with you!)
  • We bought a bank repossession. That means we also gutted the whole first floor, including kitchen and made it all new… can't wait to share!
  • Dallas passed away. Yes the cute dog you saw opening her Christmas present extra early passed away on my birthday. One of the worst days of my life, it was just another of the many things that would go wrong this summer. Not to mention I cried for days… but she is now someplace special watching over us.
  • We spent endless days and nights working our butts off. And, lots of decisions were made, floors, windows and even a brand new kitchen.
  • We threw a Surprise 60th and Retirement for my mom - as well as surprised our niece with a yard full of balloons and a "honk for the new teen" sign for her 13th birthday!
  • I have put my University Course to the side and now must cram an entire course into two months… my fault but I had no way of fitting in to my schedule.
  • I've decided to cut out processed food from my diet… that means I've been trying my hardest to eat natural foods only and to skip out on the white refined sugar junk. It actually isn't that hard. But it also means that I will be trying a lot of interesting recipes in the near future. And, once and a while, I will need a cheat treat.
  • And, we ended the summer with an extra long weekend away. Finally some rest, relaxation and alone time.
It's been quite the summer and I can't wait to share in on the full details of every event. For now, I'm just glad to be back at the business and working towards another dream. We will still have some renovations in our future - we have a whole other floor. :o) But, we are likely taking the winter off, which means… I'm here to focus on the other things I really enjoy.

It's "Favorites Friday" | Etsy Shoppes

The beloved etsy shoppe. Yes, I have one - no I haven't added any products to it yet. But, hopefully by the end of this year, I think that's a reasonable goal, don't you? :o) Okay, so as promised, I will make an attempt at a Favorites Friday post, today's topic being my five favorite etsy shoppes at the moment. Here goes:

(1) The Nest UK
Some of the most amazing pillows and decor for the home,
here are three of my favorite items they have right now:

Burlap Beach House Starfish Sea Star Pillow Cover
Home Burlap Banner Bunting
Linen Ruffle Lumbar Pillow Cover

Sometimes, it's a good thing we don't have kids or I'd be broke!
These are absolutely adorable jackets, every kid should have one...

Kids Fantastic Little Fox Coat
Kids Coat: Cheeky Green Dinosaur
Girls Teddy Bear Coat in Pink

(3) Made by Nanna
When it comes to purses, I had a few favorites,
but this store won my heart tonight with plenty of colours to choose from.

Yellow and White Chevron Carry On Hobo Bag with Burlap
Navy Blue Striped Weekender Hobo Bag with Burlap
Green Tapestry Hobo Bag Boho Chic

(4) M Bart Studios
A little different, but for some reason I find these
clay artworks absolutely amazing. I think I want one. ;o)

Clock 9x9 Simple Modern
5" Dish Rumi Quote
5" Dish I Cherish You

(5) Sukan
And because we all know how much I love pillows,
this shop is a dream come true, it was hard to pick just three.

Sukan / Yellow Flowers, Gray Linen Pillow Cover
2 SET - Plant Linen Pillow Cover
Kite Pillow Cover
Etsy, the beloved market place of homemade goods. Check it out and get lost in all of the great finds for hours! Nothing beats a rainy day on the couch, curled up by the fire, still being able to browse through the many unique gifts that are out there. I hope to have my Etsy Shoppe: TheMarthaAnne open soon, maybe that will come after we move into our next house. Be sure to check back often!

Have a Great Weekend!!
