Maternity Leave Week 1

Where to start... I've been bussssy! And kind of bored all at once. I know once the baby comes I'll be wishing for this quietness and time to get everything done. I've been wrapping up so many projects and I got to spend a day with my girl at the Willow Wheat Spa! She spoiled me of course, with a pedicure and lunch! I love her.

Anyways, here's what's going on and coming up on the blog. I'm trying to make pillow cases out of sweaters. I've purchased a kitchen cart (for my mom) and it's getting a complete overhaul. I must finish the final decor touches in the nursery. I've made a cookie recipe I'll be sharing tomorrow! And well... among everything else I have to share... the hubs and I took another trip to IKEA... bought some cupboard frames and his next project is building a buffet for the dining room. That means, yes he did get the new end tables done and I just need to give them some stain!

Is that all?

I will try my best to keep on top of everything - given the baby doesn't come. But, of course... I'd like him to arrive sooner than later. His movements are getting so strong!

Anyways, that's it - except for the fact that I'm definitely missing some coworkers right now and the opportunity to socialize... I'm trying to keep myself busy.

{have i mentioned the tv hasn't been turned on once - maybe today}

I Won The Liebster Award...

Nanner nanner woohoo... Joyful in Chaos awarded me with the Liebster Award!

I had no idea this even existed. And there it sat, an email in my inbox... that I had won! I hesitated at first... could this be spam? Why would I get a blogger award... then I convinced myself to click. And there it was - my name was on the list. Me?

Here's what it is:

Liebster, (Leibste) meaning "kindest, dearest, beloved, cute, endearing" in German.

The Liebster Award is a blogger to blogger, peer award, used to highlight up and coming, smaller, lesser known blogs that are less than 6 months old and/or have less than 200 followers. Liebster is an award that you accept with an intention of paying it forward. How awesome is that?!? {and what a surprise, too!}

When you accept your Liebster, you must pay it forward and nominate other bloggers that you would like to award.

So here are the guidelines for the award:
1) You must post 11 random things about yourself.
2) Answer the questions that the nominator set for you.
3) Create 11 questions for the people you nominate.
4) Choose 11 new blogs that you love and link them in your post.
5) Leave a comment on this post with the URL to your Leibster post so I can learn more about you

Awe... isn't that so nice. Here's 11 random things about moi:

1. My sign is Cancer.
2. I was on tv for figure skating when I was 12 or so.
3. I was supposed to skip grade 6 but chickened out.
4. I am addicted to cheese.
5. I hate being pregnant.
6. I hate vans and refuse to ever own one unless its an old school VW camper van.
7. I need my sleep - at least 8 hours - you have been warned.
8. I am still trying to find that "dream" job.
9. I am not like most women, I don't dream of shoes, I dream of jeans... Silvers to be exact.
10. I don't really have a favorite color or number.
11. I love surprises and trying something new - food, places to see, etc.

For more randomness about me, visit my about me page.

Now onto the questions from Jos:

1. What is your dream home?
Gah! What isn't my dream home... I absolutely love old homes for their character and new homes for their functionality. It must have a front porch and lots of roof lines. Here's one I'd take in a heart beat:

2) What is your favorite song and why?
Oh this is a hard one... I'm not really a song person -  but right now I really enjoy Some Nights (Fun), Calamity Song (The Decemberists), Somebody That I Used to Know (Gotye), Ho Hey (The Lumineers)... oh and my all time go to is New Orleans is Sinking (The Tragically Hip) and of course I can't forget our wedding song What a Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong). Sorry, I cheated - that was more than one. But really... I'm more of a movie gal.

3) What do you love most about being a momma?
Well, I'm only a momma to Bailey our cat. And well... the first baby is on it's way - possibly the only one - did I mention I hate pregnancy?

4) What's your favorite blog post & why?
Hmm... I'm not to sure about this one... I'm pretty proud of one I recently wrote. It had... wait for it... over 450 views, over 20 comments and over 125 downloads in less than two weeks. SCORE - that's pretty good for me! Check it out - Free Fall Printable!
5) What are your three favorite blogs & why?
Oh there are so many... but ultimately I choose to follow certain blogs more than others because of their style. They have ahhhmazing homes and pretty cool projects. Here are three I recommend you check out:

6) What tv shows are must-watch for you?
Well, now that there is no more Gossip Girl, 90210 or Dr. Emily Owens... I would have to say The Carrie Diaries and Hart of Dixie. And then... I discovered Pretty Little Liars and I'm hooked. All in all though, I'm a CW girl -  minus all the vampires. Oh and of course, I can't forget Love It or List It!

7) How long have you been blogging & why?
Oh about two years I think. And because I love it. It's a creative outlet - although sometimes I lack a little in that department and fail to blog. As well, I'm hoping it becomes a full-time business someday. (dreaming...)

8) "I'll ------------ if it's the last thing I do."
Go to New York City. I want to go there so bad!!! <--- bad enough it needed three exclamations.

9) Favorite decor find of all time?
Meh? Time changes this decision and I really don't have a lot of decor yet... still working on the reno phase of our home. But, I have a few "victorian" antique frames I scored from the hub's grandpa's barn. They are to die for.. I just haven't done anything with them yet. Oh, plus they were free.

10) Who's your favorite author?
Oh I wish I had an answer for this I just don't read anymore. As a kid I loved reading. As a teen I hated it.. I will blame this on teachers who made me read books I was interested in. Now, I love it but don't have time for it. Therefor, no favorite author.

11) What's your favorite "homemade" gift?
Who doesn't love homemade? I can't think of a specific thing that was given to me that I absolutely adore... but if you don't do homemade... I'm okay with Etsy gifts too. Oh and Rice Krispie Treats... who doesn't like those? Check out Mallow & Co. for some different kinds.

That is it. I did it. Now it's your turn... I am going to elect these fine ladies:

Maggie @ The Love Nerds
Linda @ Paper Seedlings
Rebecca @ Beurrista
Heather @ The Unsophisticated Kitchen
Megan @ Megan to Momma
Amy @ Up Mommy Creek
Mosby @ Simplicity is Key
Katie @ See You There
Holly @ My Own Kind of Beautiful
Jessica @ My Bag of Sunshine
Allie @ Mama G, Three and IV

Here are my questions for you:

1. If you could have a three word sentence to describe your blog what would it be? Why?
2. What are your favorite pizza toppings?
3. What is the best place you've ever traveled?
4. If you don't have one already, what would be your ideal Etsy Shop?
5. If you could share any recipe with me, what would it be?
6. How did you come up with the name of your blog?
7. What is the best surprise you've ever had given to you?
8. If you could do anything or be anything, what would it be?
9. I am at home when I am "_________".
10. My favorite color scheme right now is?
11. What is your most random memory from childhood?

Congrats everyone! I look forward to reading your answers.
Please provide links to your blog post in the comments below.

**** Just so you know, if I couldn't find the followers on your blog - I went to bloglovin'... maybe I cheated a little.. but under 200 is under 200 right?****

Spring Fever...

Spring Fever... it has me doing everything but working on the blog and business! Err... this happened to me last year and I put the blog on pause for the summer! Well I can't this year... You know, I think this would be much easier to do if I could make this my full-time job! :D

by ViniciusNovelli @ deviantART

Anyways, I have a million... okay, like 10 posts I need to do and I will do them. Here's what we've been up to... and the updates I promise will be to you by the end of the summer (if I put that big of a deadline, I for sure can't fail).

1. We are putting a pool in!! Yup... the hubby is doing the work himself and I'm trying to help... but I'm not that great at it, well... because...

2. We're having a baby!! YAY!! This explains a lot of me being absent... especially since I fall asleep on the couch every night before 9 and don't wake up until 6... yup 9 hours of sleep every night at least! I'll do a full post and announcement on this soon - with all the deets.. okay not ALL the deets but the stuff you want to hear.

3. The basement is in progress and will be until Fall... but I must share some pictures!!

4. Speaking of pictures, we finally purchased an Ikea Ektorp couch and chair. Couch for the formal living room - YAY furniture... and chair for the nursery... I'm hoping to get a rocker/glider base for it and do a tutorial.

5. We are heading to the Picton wineries soon and I can't wait to share.. I will I promise... and maybe I'll even bust out the Niagara Falls pictures I haven't gotten around to yet. Anyways... can you guess who's DD and enjoying water throughout the trip??

6. We've been crazy busy... hanging out with family, doing Mother's Day, working outside, relaxing outside (okay that isn't really busy), having a weekend of bad luck and drama... long story and you know... life in general.

So, once again I'm apologizing for being a crappy blogger. I am going to make it up with a baby sonogram this week hopefully - first ultrasound is Friday. And lots of pics of what's going on in life in general... so please bare with me and my tiredness/busyness... well and hungriness...

A Snow Day with Hankers

I was going to really do a post today called "I Could So Get Used to This..." you know... working from home. Don't tell anyone but I kinda worked in my jammers all day because it was a SNOW DAY! Usually I just take the day off but work is so hectic right now!

In real life I work in a marketing department and lets just say our largest trade show is less than three weeks away. That means I am on marketing overload and also going to Vegas for my third time very very soon! I know you're probably thinking - lucky her... but in reality I worked almost 80 hours in one week last year. And, when I got home I slept for 17 hours straight... it's exhausting!

Anyways, that's not the point of today's post. Today's post should be about Hank. So here are some pictures of his little snow adventure in the backyard today...

That's our little man... being all cute and stuff. He is so photogenic... I love him - most days! :o)

Just Some Rambling...

Today is one of those days. It's snowing and I'm bored. By the way, did you check out my new About Me page? More rambling... but it's worth it, I promise!

(Insert random picture of Hank.)
He loves his snow...

So, what else is new around the old town? The hubby and I debated becoming land lords for a mere three days, then we found out you need a whopping down payment on the house because it's for income. Damn you mortgage shenanigans... now we must save.

I had an epiphany the other day at work. Not a positive one... well it sorta is. Just depends on whether you're a half glass full type of person or a glass half empty. I'll tell you my thought and then you decide:
Working in the corporate world means your allowing someone else to live their dreams. They had a business idea and now I'm making it a reality for them. Boo corporate world! I want my dreams to come true not yours!
Okay, glass half full = I must work harder and harder and even harder than I am now to make my dreams a reality and have little laborers working for me, glass half empty = here I am making someone else's dream a reality - Nooooooooo! Rant. Over.

Oh, did I mention that I looked at how much it is to rent a store front. I know a real store. {dreaming}

Umm.. I think that is it. Well, besides that yesterday's winner still hasn't came forward. Where are you lucky number 5??

Oh and did I mention it was snowing? But unfortunately the snow gods forgot to start early enough so I could have an adult snow day.

Yup that is it. Rambling over.

Happy err... Hump.... Day!

Free Ad Space... And Other Such Things. Life.

Sorry, I've been MIA! Did you have a great Valentine's Day? We of course, spent our Valentine's Day last week in Niagara Falls. It was beautiful and very quiet. Our favorite part of the trip was wine touring through Niagara on the Lake - what a beautiful place. And, of course we picked up ten bottles of wine as souvenirs... are they still considered souvenirs after you drink them?

Perhaps I'll do a post of pics that I took while there?

Anyways, if you care to read my babbling, here's a little of what's been happening... here's my excuse for ignoring you guys...

Free Ad Space for Me = Discount for You! {Cheesy Grin}

At the start of this year I said I'd try and work a little harder at this whole blog thing. So, I did. I am. Actually, I don't think I ever take time off... Marriage, what marriage. When the hubs looks at me and tells me to take a break... I say I'm working at retirement. HA!

Anyways, in my attempt, I've been partying (link style of course), blabbing (on others posts), getting featured (YAY me!) and... now starting to do some advertising. Say what? Except I'm still pretty cheap so when I stumbled upon Angie in the Thick of It... and I saw an opportunity... for free - I leaped!

Go check it out - HERE - I got a spotlight on the right side of the page and it has a discount for you. My nerdiness desperation paid off. YAY me! And of course, Angie's blog is pretty funny... so maybe read a bit of it while you're there!

Retirement here I come. (Right...)

New Basement... Say What?
So remember how I told you we were working on the ensuite, well... we kind of have A.D.D. when it comes to renos. We've moved on... well downward... to the basement. I will post (I promise) next week with some before pictures and a floor plan. We already put the money down for the carpet (which will go in the main area), now we just have to get our butts in gear and get it ready to be put down. Which means a barn door... yah that's right! I'm so pumped... I will share more later though. Here's a peek at the basement when we moved in...

The photo you are about to see is not for everyone. It may appear dim, eery, down right scary. The photographer does not take credit in any means. At this time, we are doing our best to fix the situation. In the meantime, look at your own risk!

This WAS our very scary basement.
Well, part of it. There are still two bedrooms, a bathroom,
our utility/storage room and another storage room.

My Giveaway... of course!

If you didn't realize I kind of have this giveaway thing going on and I've been trying to spread the word, you know, with fella bloggers and such...

When I first posted about the giveaway, I had some gadget magoo on the bottom that you had to fill in... well I deleted it. It was more of a pain in the butt than anything... and now, all you have to do is leave me a lovely comment. You do love me don't you? Pretty please.

Get to 'er... you can win some cool earrings here.

That's. Right. Life. Happened.

It's been hectic in our household! I blame last week's lack of blogging on vacationing. I blame this week's on laziness everything else. We had a Fair Meeting (and wouldn't ya know it, we were one night late... so we never really had it.) Appointments... I took a day off work just for appointments! Hank's last day of training... is he any smarter? Well, he certainly has us trained. ;o) And, well that seems like enough excuses doesn't it? It's been crazy, crazy, crazy. But, that's life and I wouldn't trade it... okay I would. I'd trade it for my couch, a movie and some snuggling. But I guess that has to be earned.

Well that's it. That's the end of this babbling session. This weekend is food cooking time, baking, earring making and hopefully some blog post writing. Until the next time, this post was brought to you by the letter M, signing off...

Hungry for Change: A Resolution or Two

I don't really believe in New Year Resolutions. In fact, I think most statistics will tell you that more people fail than succeed at New Year Resolutions. Just because its 2013, doesn't mean I'm going to all of a sudden turn my life upside down. But, I do want to resolve to do a few things throughout the year. Some changes, some goals. They don't necessarily start today but are things I can work towards throughout the year... Things I can start tomorrow.

1. Hungry for Change

I watched this documentary the other day about the food we eat and how unhealthy it is for you. For some reason, I veered away from the natural eating path in the past few months, but I would like to get back to it again. If you haven't had a chance to watch this documentary - Hungry for Change - you should. It's on NetFlix right now and it pretty much sums up all of the added junk (especially processed sugar) in the food we eat and how it can be just as harmful and addicting as cocaine or heroine. I want to be realistic and make a long term change, not just attempt another diet. I want to try and eat more natural foods and cut out as much of the refined stuff as possible. I'm not going to lie though, if I want to treat myself, I will make it - this way I will know what is in it and it won't have a shelf life of six months!

2. Makeover Time

This year is going to be the year that martha.anne takes off. Okay... hopefully it is. I'm going to work really hard at making it happen (on the weekend I started creating another product for the etsy shoppe... so excited!!). Anyways, this year I need to sit down and rearrange the blog. I need to do a whole bunch of stuff that I won't bore you with. It's going to take some time and is my major goal for 2013.

3. Keep It Local & Handmade

I want to succeed so much at my business that I believe I should pay it forward in order for it to happen. I want to try my hardest to shop local (as long as it's feasible). More importantly though, I want to try and shop handmade. Being on Etsy I've seen lots of great gifts and other items that are inexpensive, more meaningful and absolutely lovable. In 2013, I'm going to try my hardest to give my business to the little guys. I now understand how important it is.

4. Pay It Forward

Finally, I want to spend 2013 paying it forward. I know when Monday rolls around I whine and complain that I'm spending another week in the cube. But let's face it, there are people out there wishing they had my opportunities - even if it is just being able to do the little things and not having to work weekends. The other day a friend posted a Creative Pay It Forward on Facebook (see below). I commented and copied it... hoping to do the same. I have already came up with some ideas for those who commented and can't wait to surprise them. It's the little things that make a difference for someone else. This year when Christmas rolled around, the hubby and I talked about paying off someone's layaway (someone with children) - hopefully this year will be the year we can do it.

2013 Creative Pay-It-Forward: The first five people to comment on this status will receive from me, sometime in this calendar year, a gift - perhaps a book, some homemade cookies, or a - a surprise! There will likely be no warning and it will happen whenever the mood strikes me. The catch? Those five people must make the same offer in their FB status.

Anyways, those are my hopes for 2013. Hopefully I can work a bit towards each and say I tried my best to make them happen. Now that I've shared mine, tell me, what's up for you this year?

Happy 100th Post!

What a way to start the week, with my 100th post. I was going to write a post filled with my future jewelery shoppe, when the hubby said... you must do a recap! (I guess someone has been reading my blog posts.) So I thought, ya that's a great idea, a little more work - as we're trying to get out the door after dinner for the night, but I will do it. So here goes, a recap of what I yammered on about for the last 100 posts:

1. My First Blog Post (November 14, 2011) - Looking back now, it's hard to believe that it all started with a short piece about me and a dream to achieve. I'm still working towards it but that reminder of what I was after gives me the "kick in the butt" I've been needing lately to get things rolling again! Just two short posts later (The Start of a New Business), I created my first product - hoping it would one day meet the world of Etsy.

2. For the rest of 2011, I introduced you to the hubby, began my "Favorites Friday" posts and we were starting to house shop once again, with the possibility of building. Who knew we would be where we are now - in another renovation, but still loving every minute of it.

I shared one of our favorite recipes - MMM... No Yeast Cinnamon Buns!

3. In January, I promised my pinning attempt once a week! What was I thinking? Okay, I'm sorry, I have failed at this... but I want to get back at it starting this week, in fact last night I successfully completed a pin attempt... I will have to share later! As well, the start of the year shared lots of interior photos, favorite items of mine and recipes... I was on a roll.

4. Let's not forget, I started to show you the before and after of the cape cod! And, as the hubby nicely reminded me tonight... I still need to finish sharing them!

My epic fail at making yarn covered earrings. (Pin Attempt - Paperclip Earrings)

5. In April, I took on a new logo design for a local photography company - Fine Photos Logo Design.  In my opinion it was a huge success and one of my favorite logos to date! I absolutely loved the challenge and had fun incorporating all of my client's ideas!

And, of course I shared The Best Pizza Dough Recipe Ever!
Which we will be trying shortly with whole wheat flour, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Looking back, I just fell in love with hundreds of items over again - did I ever tell you I am obsessed with interior design and furniture. Other than that, the rest of the season was quite a blur. I took the summer off because of absolute craziness in our lives and nicely just got back on here with you. But, I can say I'm proud that I have been able to stick to it for 100 posts and hopefully there are that and many more ahead. Here's to another 100 posts... and a thanks for sticking it through with me and giving me a reason to follow my dreams... Cheers!

Meet Hank... The Tank.

Just a quick post - as promised, I have taken a few pictures of the new addition to the family. Everyone, meet Hank.

Hank is a purebred English Bulldog, 4 months old and full of wrinkles. His paws are gargantuan and don't let his cuteness fool you, he's the devil in disguise.

Just a puppy, and a light 28 lbs!!!, he is full of snores, grunts and moans. His raspy little bark comes out once in a while and he tends to stick his tongue out when he sleeps. Not to mention, he has the bulldogs greatest gift of being "stinky"...

And of course, he loves to play... and bite. He's just learning what hurts and he's getting better every day. Of course, he still grabs the odd pant leg as it walks by. And, he usually goes into complete craziness for about an hour every night, something the hubby refers to as witching hour in our house now.

This is Hank. He's a character and one that will keep us busy for a while. He's absolutely adorable and although he does the oddest things, like roll in his "potty" after he goes outside (yes that was tonight's reason for a second bath in 24 hours), we wouldn't trade him for the world. Although, we may consider lending him out to volunteering babysitters once in a while! It feels as if we may be up for a wild ride for the next few months. For now, he's snoring away at my feet by the island... so I may just slip away and have some quiet time...

It's "Favorites Friday" | My Style

I'm a day late, but better late than never? I figured with the upcoming trip to San Francisco, I better get a few posts in before we leave - I know I'll be MIA from blog world while I'm gone. After all, it has been almost three years since we've had a week vacay together... so I'm definitely pumped. Anyways, for today's "Favorites Friday" I decided to dip into my Pinterest - My Style, and pick my five favorite fashion pieces. Wait no longer... this is exactly what I dream my fashion statement to be... (because we all know I don't own all of these!).

1. I love the grays. If you know me, you know I'm a neutral gal when it comes to fashion. I have very few colored pieces of clothing in my closet. I just love how everything compliments each other and the pearls are my favorite (aside from diamonds). I just need the shoes, the white scarf (I have like 40 scarves, but no plain white one).... I think I could managed similar items for the rest.

2. You can say I'm a very self conscious gal, especially when it comes to beach wear... But this bathing suit may just be my next... I absolutely love the lines and how cute it is, without revealing too much skin. I know when I get older I'll wish I rocked a bikini, but I just hate them!
Rey Swimwear

3. Want, need, love... this bag is absolutely amazing. I bet I could fit my laptop in it as well to take on business trips! The worn leather would match any outfit... now, I just need to find out where I can buy it! I'm definitely after an over sized bag for my purse... leather would be great.. but I'll settle for any great bag that can be worn year round.
A Life of Beauty and Grace

4. Very simple, yet something I rarely do. My husband loves the plain shirt and jeans look and I never do it. Again, I feel very self conscious in a t shirt, don't ask me why. The flip flops aren't my favorite, I'm more of a leather flip flop kinda gal, but that bag... ohh, I love. I'll take it in place of the leather one... I absolutely adore it.

5. Back to the neutrals. This look is timeless... and I want those shoes so badly!! I'm not a hoop earrings kinda gal, but I already have a similar belt and watch. I own a black bag and plenty of large neck sweaters, I'm pretty sure I could pull a similar look off with the items in my closet. Now the ring, I want a flat, silver tube ring so bad (without the designs)... but a trip to the jewelry store had them coming in at $800 plus. Eeks... I'll keep it on my wish list though... I absolutely love them!

Favorites Friday a day late, but I still managed. And, you've learned a little bit more about me and my style. Hopefully I get another blog post out to you before I leave. I'll even try and write a few to post while I'm away. But if not ... see you in a week or two and have a great weekend!

25 Things Linky Party!

Alright here goes, 25 things about me... and I'm attempting to complete this in under five minutes...

1. This is completely random and that's why I love it.

2. I am so sick of renos right now, I don't want to lift another paint brush for a year.

3. But, I am loving all of the results and our home is coming together perfectly.

4. And, I will be lifting another paint brush sooner than I'd like, we are looking at a house right now! :)

5. My hubby sliced his arm open last weekend with a chisel.

6. It was because of renos and he was 1/2 a cm from slicing his main artery - it was completely gross, but we didn't have to wait when we arrived at the emergency room!

7. I am so done with winter and can't wait for spring.

8. I am also done with having a career and wish I could retire.

9. I could spend all day on Pinterest - finding great pins and being led to even better - amazing blogs.

10. This is not my first attempt at having a blog, I failed every other time.

11. One of my other blogs was based on me planning my whole wedding on a budget.

12. The wedding planning consumed my time and it was worth every minute.

13. I need a lot of variety and to use creativity daily, or else I get bored.

14. I love lists and this one is even better because it's not a to do.

15. I wish I could get people to comment on my blog - if you read this, please say hi below! :o)

16. I often wonder if people actually read what I post or if it's just spam bots patrolling the internet.

17. Yes I just used internet marketing terms, I am a marketer by profession.

18. I love traveling and want to see the world.

19. I could live in hotels for the rest of my life... and I don't think I would get home sick.

20. My favorite vacation was my honeymoon when we traveled through Maine and back into Canada.

21. I wish I could cook like a chef.

22. I want to learn how to use spices and make the most amazing meals from the simplest things.

23. I have an epicure wish list, as well as pampered chef.

24. I have been with my husband 10 years this summer.

25. Yes that makes us high school sweathearts.

This was a blast. I don't have a link list, but please feel free to post your 25 Things and link below in the comments!! (This was for Perfectly Imperfect)

I need, I want, I have to learn this...

It's been on my bucket list for a while now, learning how to make a quilt. As I start pinning more and more on Pinterest, I find myself desperately wanting to learn. My husband keeps telling me to ask his mother to teach me, but for some reason I am too stubborn. There's just something about it that I hate! Don't ask me why, I'm weird like that. Anyways, I'm going to try by the end of this year, 2012, to make some sort of quilt. First, I need to learn the basics, then find the right materials, then I have to go full force and just do it! Oh, and might I add, I think this means I'll need to learn how to use my sewing machine... but maybe not. :o) Anyways, as I continue to toss around the idea of actually making one, here are a few I absolutely love:

Amazing Patchwork Quilt
Simple Grey Quilt
Swedish Landscape Patchwork Quilt
My absolute favorite quilt is plain ivory with machine embroidery through it. I have found a few in local stores but just haven't made the splurge on one yet. Hopefully, I will have the talent someday so that no purchase is necessary. :o)

Do you quilt? If so... do share tips, secrets, how to and the easiest type to get started with... I need to know as much as possible! Anyways, it's hump day... can't wait for this week to be over!

Goodnight world!

Love It or List It

Based is Toronto, Ontario, Love It or List It is my absolutely favorite home show. The only default about it is I wish they had more episodes!! I'm addicted to the designs and seeing inside all of the homes. If I were to choose anyone to design my home, it would be Hilary Farr and her crew! Anyways, enough said, if you haven't caught it yet, be sure to look for it. Until then, here are a few of her designs... (and a little peak at heaven!)

Barrett Family

Dan & Rich

Shaver Family

Coughlan Family

I'm totally obsessed. Now, if only there was way to get them to come to where I live. :o)
Anyways, Happy Monday!

It's "Favorites Friday"!

Okay, new confession. Yesterday I told you about my weird fling for pillows, but it only gets worse. To tell you the truth, I'm obsessed with bowls. Yes, that's right, kitchen bowls. There is one in particular that is my favorite, it has a pouring spout, is made of porcelain and is usually white inside with solid colored outside. Yes, old fashioned - but I want it so bad. So, on my mission to complete Favorites Friday, I decided to go on search for my favorite bowls and here are five (I'm sure I'll be back with more at a later date):

Chantal Bakeware Ring Batter Bowl
Core Bamboo Bowls
Bauer Classic Style Mixing Bowls
Trudeau Mixing Bowl Set
Multi-Colored Mixing Bowls for John Lewis
Okay, weird obsession I know. But, that's me!

We're getting ready for another weekend of renos, hoping to list the house in the next week or two! We went appliance shopping tonight, just in case we decide to throw all of our appliances in with the house! Yes - it's all starting to fall into place. I definitely foresee a great 2012! Then again, the year will be what we make of it! Have a great weekend out there!
